I’m not much for social media, attracting attention, or putting myself out there. Nearly as soon as I published my first book, though, I knew there were a lot of stories I wanted to tell. Luckily, I created an entire planet—a continent, a history—in which to tell them.
There are so many different ways to write a story—endless threads of decisions that launch a book in one direction or another. Not all stories followed the canonical plot I ultimately decided on, but they are, nonetheless, stories. And even these unpublished, whimsical exercises in writing paint a picture I was determined to explore further.
This blog will follow some of the many abandoned threads that litter Aria’s life—what if Sebastian won the bid? What if Alistair never killed for his throne? What if Aria met Valtteri before Casimir?—and ultimately, in exploring the endless void of decisions my characters could have made, we’ll get to know them better. I’ve always found myself drawn to the stories that live in the shadows—what could have been.
If nothing else, I’m going to have a blast.
